General Purpose of the Position
This position will be responsible for performing any combination of following tasks to assemble components, subassemblies, products, or systems. Reads prints and work orders, follows work instructions, drawings, and sample assemblies. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices. Screws, bolts, rivets, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. This position will participate in both the technical and social components of the Quality team. Leadership and skill acquisition in both categories is paramount.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Pull parts per Work Instructions and Bill of Material
- Stock Work Stations will all necessary hardware
- Complete daily inspection of workstation fixtures
- Assemble subcomponents into finished assemblies
- Prepare finished goods for shipment by inspecting the completed assembly and placing them on Customer designated shipping racks
Skills and Abilities Required
- Prior experience working on large builds requiring overhead hoists
- Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Forklift certification or previous equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient with hand tools
- Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours/day
- Team player
- Read and follow work instructions
- Support a team atmosphere
- Be able to demonstrate levels of decision making based on proficiency and experience aligned with business objectives
- Ability to work at a fast and deliberate pace
- Constructive attitude that continues to seek and resolve daily challenges
- Ability to analyze data and issues to uncover root cause and provide solutions
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred
Education and Experience Required
Minimum of a High school diploma or GED
