General Purpose of the Position

The position of Shipping and Receiving Clerk consists of repackaging, assembling, stamping, staging, addressing, and shipping products; arranging for the transportation of products by utilizing web-based portals and placing manual calls to various logistics companies. This position will also be responsible for receiving, unpacking, verifying, and storing incoming products. This position will participate in both the technical and social components of the Quality team. Leadership and skill acquisition in both categories is paramount.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload in-bound and outbound trucks
  • Accurately ship and receive goods in Camelot Manufacturing 2007
  • Obtain Merchandise from warehouse locations to prepare for shipment
  • Complete weekly cycle counts on selected inventory
  • Support fulfillment of materials to production stations, stocking materials into each and removing finished goods to prepare for shipment
  • Shipping Material Handling – pull product, pack, secure, scan, and label product to prepare for shipping by using fork truck, material cart, wireless scanners, tape guns, shrink wrap, shipping postages, and packing slip envelopes
  • Receiving Material Handling – unload, sort, unpack, verify, and store all incoming products by using fork truck, material cart, inspection sheets, and shipper documents
  • Use Camelot to regulate inventory by shipping material out and receiving material in by way of ASN, UPS/FED Integration, Inventory Transfer, and manual input
  • Contact carriers to make arrangements for shipping material on a daily basis through web-based portals, manual phone calls, or communicating via email
  • Determine shipping method for product by using knowledge of shipping procedures such as weight of product & container, dimensions of product & container, number of packages, hazmat material, etc.
  • Prepare shipping documents such as a Bill of Lading, Shipping Label, Packing slip, Commercial Invoice for all outgoing shipments
  • Record all standard shipment data such as container type, container mult. quantity, weight of product & container at mult. quantity, standard dimension, space availability, etc.
  • Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Assembly, Supervisor, and Manager to verify and keep records of damages & nonconformance to design, shortages, overages, order discrepancies, GRC Issues, build time, etc.
  • Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and work with minimul supervision
  • Forklift certification or equilivent experience
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours/day
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and blue prints
  • Support a team atmosphere
  • Be able to demonstrate levels of decision making based upon proficiency and experience aligned with business objectives
  • Ability to work at a fast and deliberate pace
  • Constructive attitude that continues to seek and resolve daily challenges
  • Ability to analyze data and issues to uncover root cause and provide solutions
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. continuously
  • Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is imperative
  • Previous Inventory based computer knowledge and or practical experience
  • Prior experience using wireless scanners and specialized computer software
  • Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of a High school diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred

  • Salary negociable based on education and experience.
